8 days Serengeti and Zanzibar safari is a safari experience that starts in Arusha and takes place across the different national parks in the northern part of Tanzania and also in Zanzibar.
You will engage in game drives during your 8 days Serengeti and Zanzibar safari and also enjoy exploring Stone town as you visit the island of Zanzibar. You will also look out for wildlife species such as elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos and buffalos among others.
Serengeti national park is the oldest national park in Tanzania covering about 14,750 square kilometers. The national park is also known for the annual wildebeest migration which involves movement of over 1.5 million wildebeests.
The 8 days Serengeti and Zanzibar safari will end in Zanzibar.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1; pick up and drive to Lake Manyara national park
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha on the 1st day of your safari and welcome you for the safari. You will continue to Lake Manyara national park with a stop in Mto wa Mbu town where you will enjoy seeing local arts and crafts before continuing to the national park. You will have lunch after checking in at your lodge.
After lunch you will engage in a game drive in Lake Manyara national park and look out for different wildlife species such as tree climbing lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards, hippos, giraffes among others. Flamingos are also among the bird species which can be spotted around the national park during a safari. You will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Nsya lodge.
Day 2; drive to Serengeti national park
After having breakfast at your lodge, you will check out of the lodge and start your drive to Serengeti national park. The national park is home to numerous wildlife species such as the big 5 which includes elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos and buffalos. You will have lunch after checking in at your lodge in the national park.
You will also engage in a game drive and explore the central part of Serengeti national park in search of wildlife species such as wildebeests, zebras, antelopes, hippos, buffalos, kudu, and waterbucks among others. You will be driven back to your lodge after the game drive for dinner and overnight at Osinon camps and lodges.
Day 3; full day in Serengeti national park
On the 3rd day of your safari, you will start with breakfast at your lodge as you prepare to engage in a full day game drive around Serengeti national park. You will start with a morning game drive in the national park and explore the open savannah plains in search of wildlife species such as wildebeests, zebras, antelopes, hippos, giraffes, gazelles, impalas, kudu, buffalos among others. After your morning game drive, you will have your lunch.
After having lunch, your guide will drive you around Seronera area as you enjoy looking out for other wildlife species. You will return to your lodge after your game drives and dinner and overnight will be at Osinon camps and lodges.
Day 4; drive to Ngorongoro crater
You will have breakfast before checking out of your lodge in Serengeti national park as you prepare for your transfer to Ngorongoro conservation area. you will visit the Ngorongoro crater and engage in a game drive on the crater floor and look out for wildlife species such as elephants, lions, buffalos, rhinos, leopards, cheetahs, wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, impalas, hippos among others.
You will also visit Lake Magadi in the Ngorongoro crater where you will see flocks of flamingos along the lake shores. After this experience, your guide will drive you back to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Hhando coffee lodge.
Day 5; drive to Arusha
After having breakfast at your breakfast at your lodge, your guide will drive you to Arusha where you will check in at your hotel and have lunch. You will also have a tour around Arusha later in the day and you will return after the tour for dinner and overnight at Tulia boutique hotel and spa.
Day 6; flight from Arusha to Zanzibar
Your guide will drive you to the airport after breakfast for your flight to Zanzibar. On arrival at the airport in Zanzibar you will be picked up and driven to your hotel where you will check in and have lunch.
You will also engage in a tour around Stone town to learn about the history of Zanzibar and its cultures as you move around the narrow alleys of Stone town. You will later return to your lodge after this experience for dinner and overnight at Zanzibar palace hotel.
Day 7; Zanzibar tour
You will have breakfast early at your lodge ahead of a day of exploring the beautiful Zanzibar island. You will enjoy a boat ride on a traditional dhow and also visit Menai bay during your safari and also engage in activities such as swimming and snorkeling.
You will return to your lodge after the tour for dinner and overnight at Zanzibar palace hotel.
Day 8; departure
After breakfast at your hotel, your guide will drive you to the airport for your flight which will bring your safari to an end.
