Day 1: transfer from Kampala to Bwindi impenetrable national park

The 1st day of the safari is for transfer from Kampala to Bwindi impenetrable national park, on this day you will wake up early in the morning, have breakfast then meet your safari driver and embark on journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park. Bwindi impenetrable national park is one of the most remarkable and famous national park and tourist destination situated in the southwestern region of the country, the park is known for hosting the most bug population of mountain gorillas in the world and they thrive in high forested altitudes of the park. You will arrive in the park in evening, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: mountain gorilla trekking experience

The 2nd day of the safari is for mountain gorilla trekking which is the highlight of the safari and the most adventurous activity of this safari, on this day you will wake up early in the morning for breakfast and with your packed lunch you will head to the park’s headquarters for briefing. in the briefing session rules and regulations to be followed for the experience will be read to you, be grouped in groups of 8 people, hire your porter and then hike into the forests of Bwindi in search for mountain gorillas. the trek takes approximately 3-4 hours or more depending on the gorilla family your trekking and the terrain, when you locate the gorillas you will be blown away by the size of this huge creature  with its fur covered body. You are to spend one hour in presence these precious creature taking pictures and enjoying them picking fruits and going on with their day to day lives, after the experience you will hike back to the headquarters for your trekking certificates and in the afternoon you can participate in an optional Batwa trail walk. On this walk you will visit the early inhabitants of Bwindi forests and enjoy their various ways of life such as hunting, collecting local herbs and many more. In the evening you will drive back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: transfer to Kibale national park

The 3rd day of the safari is for transfer from Bwindi impenetrable national park to kibale national park, on this day you will wake up early in the morning for morning breakfast, checkout of your lodge and embark on your journey to kibale national park which is a drive of 6-7 hours. Kibale national park is a rainforest dominated national park and a prominent home for primates in Uganda with 13 species that is chimpanzees, Uganda red colobus, L’Hoest monkey, black and white colobus monkey, blue monkey and many more . You are to get in the park in the afternoon, have lunch and visit the crater lakes where you will appreciate God’s creation, enjoy scenic views and take memorable pictures. in the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: chimpanzee tracking experience

The 4th day of the safari is for a chimpanzee tracking experience in the forests of kibale, on this day you will have an early morning breakfast and drive to the park’s headquarters for briefing about chimpanzee tracking experience. In the briefing rules and regulations to be followed will be read to you by a ranger guide and also be grouped, from the headquarters you will hike in to the forests of Kibale in search for chimpanzees. Chimpanzee available for tracking under went through habituation experience meaning they are friendly and used to human presence, as you hike through the forests you spot other primates like baboons, Bush-babies, colobus monkeys, Mangabeys and forest creatures like butterflies and squirrels.

When you find the chimpanzee you will be allowed to spend only one hour with them and in this hour you can take pictures, enjoy sights of chimpanzees playing on tree branches, old one taking care of young one and many more. Then you will walk back to the headquarter then rive to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon you drive to bigodi swamp for a walk, bigodi swamp is an impressive bird habitat and on your walk you will spot many beautiful birds such as sunbird, Abyssinia, African pitta, crowned eagle, black-capped apalis, kingfisher, weaver, cuckoos, papyrus gonolek and many more. In the evening you will drive back to your lodge, have diner and stay overnight.

Day 5: transfer back to Kampala

The 5th and last day of the safari is for transfer back to Kampala for a drop off which is the end of the 5 days Uganda mountain gorilla and chimpanzee safari, on this day you will have breakfast, checkout of your lodge and embark on your drive to Kampala. On your way you will make a stopover for lunch and another stopover at the equator for memorable pictures, you are to arrive in Kampala in late afternoon and you will be dropped off either at your hotel in Kampala or at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight.
