5 days Bwindi and Queen Elizabeth national park safari is an adventurous safari package taking you on a safari to 2 ecologically gifted national parks that is Bwindi impenetrable national park one of the most forested national parks in Uganda and a home of the highest mountain gorilla population in the world. And Queen Elizabeth national park which is one of the most famous national park in Uganda famed for hosting a variety of wildlife species with a backdrop of the snowcapped mountain rwenzori.

Detailed itinerary of the safari                                                        

Day 1: pickup and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

On the first day of the safari you will wake up early in the morning for breakfast, meet your safari driver and embark on your journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park which is a drive of approximately 7 hours. Upon your arrival in Bwindi impenetrable national park in the evening you will check into your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: mountain gorilla trekking experience

On the second day of the safari you will wake up early in the morning for morning breakfast, meet your safari driver and with your packed lunch your will head to the park for mountain gorilla trekking experience. The essence of carrying your packed is that the experience takes a lot of time, at the park you will go to the headquarters for briefing, be assigned a mountain gorilla to trek and hire a porter. With your game ranger you will head into the forests of Bwindi in search for mountain gorillas. when you find the mountain gorillas you will be allowed one hour of stay in their presence, in a duration of 1 hour you can take beautiful and memorable pictures, watch them take care of their young on and collect fruits and leaves. After you will hike back to headquarters and then either drive back to your lodge or go for an optional Batwa trail experience on which you will meet the ancient habitants of the Bwindi forest. in the evening you will drive back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: second mountain gorilla trekking experience

On the third day of the safari you will wake up early in the morning for breakfast and with your packed lunch you will checkout of your lodge and drive to the park for another mountain gorilla trekking experience, you will go through the same process like yesterday and then hike in to the forest in search for mountain gorillas. This second mountain gorilla trekking takes you to another gorilla group from the one you trekked yesterday, after trekking experience you will exit Bwindi impenetrable national park and embark on your journey to Queen Elizabeth national park through the ishasha southern sector of the park. You will get to Queen Elizabeth national park in the evening and you will check into your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: game drive and launch cruise

On the fourth day of the safari you will wake up early in the morning and drive to the park after breakfast for a game dive, Queen Elizabeth national park is an extraordinary destination with many attractions such as kazinga channel and a wide population of wildlife with the tree climbing lions as the most sort for animal living in the ishasha sector. Queen Elizabeth national park is a home to over 95 wildlife species such as lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, warthogs, Uganda kob, forest hogs, Nile crocodiles and many more. And there is over 500 bird species in the park such as African finfoot, African hobby, African skimmer, Ayres’s hawk eagle, black bee-eater, black-rumped buttonquail, caspian plover, collared pratincole, common and martin, crab-plover, great blue turaco, great white pelican, grey-winged robin chat, heuglin’s gull and many more. Game drive in the paved trails running through the short grasslands of the park is an exciting retreat as you get to spot many animals and birds, on the same game drive you will go for lion tracking where you will search for lions using a tracker remote. After the game drive experience you will drive back to the lodge for lunch and in afternoon you will return for a launch cruise on the calm waters of kazinga channel. On the launch cruise you will enjoy the cool breeze, fresh air and many animals as they come to drink water for example herds of lions, elephants, antelopes and many water birds such as herons, shoe bill, grey crowned crane and many more. In the evening you will drive back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5: flying back to Kampala

On the last day of the safari you will get up early in the morning for breakfast, checkout of your lodge and embark on your journey back to Kampala which is about 7 day, on your way you will have en-route lunch and upon arriving in kampala you will be dropped off either at your hotel or proceed to Entebbe international airport for your departure flight back home thus the end of your safari.
