Detailed Itinerary of 4 Days Luxury Chimpanzee Habituation and Trekking Safari
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale National Park
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and after a short briefing what to expect on the safari. Embark on a journey to Kibale National Park. Along the way, you will have several stopovers for pictures and in Fort Portal for lunch.
Arrive in the park in the afternoon, then head to the Bigodi Swamp recognized for hosting about 138 bird species and several species of primates including Grey Cheeked monkeys, Vervet monkeys, Red colobus monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys among others. Head to the lodge for check-in, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking Experience
Have early breakfast, meet your guide and to the park’s headquarters and join other tourists for briefing about the dos and don’ts on the experience, register for the experience and be grouped into 8 people. Then head into the jungle of Kibale looking for chimpanzees. The experience takes about 2-5 hours depending on the movement of the chimpanzee group you are trekking and when you locate them, you will be given one hour of being in the presence of the chimpanzees viewing them and take pictures.
Return to the park’s headquarters, meet your driver – guide and head back to your lodge, have dinner and spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Later have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Habituation Experience
Just like the previous day, wake up early and head to the park headquarters for briefing, this time for a chimpanzee habituation experience. In group of 8 tourists together with researchers, scientists, ranger guides and armed rangers you will head into the forests of Kibale following a semi habituated chimpanzee group.
This is a full day activity and you will go with packed lunch, since chimpanzees encountered on this experience are semi- habituated, they are hard to find and when you find them you will are allowed to spend 4 hours in their presence while monitoring their behavior, watch them feed, record their traits among other activities following the guidelines of the researchers and scientists team in charge of habituating them.
Return to the park’s headquarters, meet your guide, pick your chimpanzee permits and head back to your lodge, you will spend the rest of day resting at your lodge. In the evening, you will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: Departure
After breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge and embark on your journey back to Kampala / Entebbe on a drive of 5-6 hours, along the way you will have en-route lunch and when you arrive in Kampala, you will be dropped off either at the hotel or at Entebbe International Airport for your international flight back home.
