Kidepo national park covers an area of 1442 square kilometers and it is dominated by mountain Morungule, kidepo valley, Narus valley and intersected by kidepo and Narus Rivers which create a beautiful panoramic terrain.
The park is a great habitat for wildlife species and bird life, animals in the park include zebras, lion, cheetah, buffalo, elephants, spotted hyena, wild dog, bat eared foxes, Rothschild giraffe and many more. Detailed itinerary of the safari
Day 1: Transfer to kidepo valley national park
On the first day of the safari you will be picked from your hotel in either Kampala or Entebbe after early morning breakfast by your safari driver and embark on your journey to kidepo valley national park. From Kampala to kidepo national park it is a drive of approximately 10 hours meaning you will have en-route lunch, you are to get in the park in evening, check into your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: game drive and guided nature walk
On the second day of the safari you will wake up early in the morning for breakfast and drive to the kidepo valley national park for a game drive, on the game drive you will be entertained by melodic sweet voices of the birds and beautiful panoramic sights. from the widow of your vehicle you will spot animals like giraffes, lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, occasional cheetah and many birds such as fox kestrel, golden pipit, greater kestrel, Jackson’s hornbill, Abyssinian scimitar bill, Abyssinian roller, chestnut weaver and many more. After the game drive you will drive back to your lodge and in the afternoon you will go for guided nature walk experience, guided nature walks are head by a guide and done on foot giving you an opportunity to explore difference landscapes of kidepo national park. on your walk you will see many animals and birds and after the experience you will drive back to your lodge and in the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 3: Hike Mountain Morungole and visit the IK people
On the third day of the safari you will wake up early in the morning and drive to kidepo national park for the most adventurous experience of hiking mountain Morugole and visiting the IK minority people, mount morungole is the highest point kidepo valley national park standing at the altitude of 2,750 meters and situated in the southern region of the park. Hiking mountain morungole is a very fascinating and memorable experience taking approximately 8 hours of ascending and descending the mountain, as you hike the mountain you get the neighboring surrounding and encountering Narus and kidepo rivers which originate from the mountain. On top of the mountain you will meet the amazing IK people living on the small local communities, encountering these people is an opportunity for you to encounter unique local activities like cattle rearing and be entertained by local songs and dance. You will descend back to the park, meet your safari driver and drive back to your lodge and in the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 4: transfer back to Kampala
On the fourth and last day of your safari you will wake up early in the morning for breakfast, checkout of your lodge and embark on your journey back to Kampala which is a drive of approximately 10 hours. On your way you will have en-route lunch and upon arriving in Kampala you will be dropped off at your hotel or at Entebbe international airport for your flight back home. Your drop off will mark the end of your safari of 4 days to the magnificent kidepo valley national park.
