3 Days on Ssese Island Uganda Tour : The Ssese islands found on Lake Victoria offer a great opportunity to enjoy Uganda’s pristine sand beaches and the clear waters on your Uganda safari, and it’s one of the best Honeymoon destinations you can visit here. The island is lined fine sand meet by the warm waters of Lake Victoria and a sweeping cool breezing that causes the tree branches of natural forest in the background to rhythmically sing from side to side. There are several birds seen playing about in the shallows of the lake together with beautiful colored snail shells. Occasionally, you may see some fishermen casting the nets out on this large fresh water lake.
The Ssese Island is made up of a number of smaller beautiful islands, which makes it a perfect getaway from the busy, crowded noisy lifestyle on the mainland.
There are several accommodation facilities on these islands ranging from the budget, mid –range to the luxury facilities that offer private well-kept and fully furnished cottages. The island has very fertile soils and a thriving natural forest in which you can enjoy nature walks, or even choose to visit the local communities and interact with the local hospitable people
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Ssese Islands
You will be met by our guide from AA Safaris & Tours Ltd, who will brief you about this amazing 3 day tour. Afterwards you will be transferred to Bukakata Landing-Site or Kasenyi landing site where you will board the ferry to the beautiful islands. Before reaching the Bukakata landing site you will top-over at the equator (depending on where you will be boarding from) where you will take some photographs, have lunch and then head to the ferry. On arrival at the other side of the islands, you will have dinner and spend the night at Ssese islands beach hotel, or Brova Sands lodge or Ssese Palm Beach Resort hotel
Day 2: Explore the Ssese Islands
Today you will enjoy breakfast at your lodge and then set out in the company of a guide to enjoy a nature walk on this beautiful island. As you traverse through the green forest, you will come across several birds, some monkeys and colored butterflies living within the pristine forest; alternatively, you may choose to visit the neighboring islands where you will be able to observe the local amazing fishing methods used on these islands. You will return to your lodge for lunch, and in the afternoon you may decide to enjoy walk on the beach, take a swim in the lake or visit the local communities and interact with the locals. At night you will enjoy the bonfire as you sip your drink or join other visitors at your lodge, or choose to spend the evening at leisure. Dine and spend the night at your hotel.
Day 3: Return to the Mainland
In the morning you will have breakfast and then transfer to the landing site where you will board the ferry back to Bukakata mainland. From here we shall visit the Nabugabo beaches a nice place to see some of Uganda’s beautiful birds. We shall have lunch in Masaka, and make a stop-over at the Buwama crocodile farm before returning to Kampala Capital City. This will mark the end of the 3 Days on Ssese Island Uganda Tour
