18 days Uganda primates and Serengeti safari is a wildlife viewing experience which will start in Entebbe and you will be driven to Kibale national park where you will engage in chimpanzee habituation.
You will also enjoy lion tracking and a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel during the safari. another activity which you will engage in during the safari is gorilla habituation in Bwindi national park and also golden monkey habituation in Mgahinga national park.
During the safari you will also engage in a boat cruise at the source of the Nile and also enjoy rafting while visiting Jinja. After visiting Uganda, you will fly to Tanzania and enjoy a safari in Serengeti national park for a big 5 experience as you enjoy game drives around the vast savannah plains.
You will also visit Tarangire national park and the Ngorongoro crater during your safari in Tanzania which will end with drop off in Arusha.
Day 1: Pick up and Kibale forest national park
On the 1st day of your 18 days Uganda primates and Serengeti safari, Your guide will pick you up from Entebbe and welcome you for your safari. You will have a short briefing ahead of your drive to Kibale national park in western Uganda. The journey takes about 5 to 6 hours’ drive and on the way you will have lunch and enjoy stunning views of the beautiful scenery, landscape, tea plantation among others.
Upon arrival in Kibale national park, you will continue to check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Chimpanzee guest house.
Day 2: Chimpanzee habituation
After having early breakfast at your lodge, you will be driven to the park headquarters for a briefing about the chimpanzee habituation experience. You will go with your packed lunches for this activity. You will proceed into Kibale forest with the park rangers as you look out for the chimpanzees. You will spend about 4 hours with the chimpanzees.
This activity can take a full day depending on the location of the chimpanzees and after this experience, you will be driven to your lodge for dinner and spend the night at Chimpanzee guest house.
Day 3: transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
On the 3rd day of your 18 days Uganda primates and Serengeti safari, After having breakfast at your lodge, your guide will drive you to Queen Elizabeth national park. You will have lunch enroute and continue to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Elephant hub lodge.
Day 4: Lion Tracking experience/ game drive and boat cruise
After an early breakfast, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a morning game drive. During the game drive you will be able to spot different animals like elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, Uganda kobs, waterbucks which will be grazing in open savannah plains, view predators like lions, leopards, hyenas which will be looking for a morning hunt, view bird species among others. After the game drive you will have lunch.
Afternoon boat cruise
After lunch you will go for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel a water channel that connect lake Edward and lake George. During the boat cruise which takes about 2 to 3 hours, you will be able to view hippos and Nile crocodiles in water, view buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, waterbucks drinking water along the shores, view water birds like hornbills, cormorants, fish eagles, king fisher’s among others. After the boat ride you will return to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight at Elephant hub lodge.
Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
You will enjoy a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park. You will have lunch and then continue the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park and you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Rushaga gorilla haven lodge.
Day 6: Gorilla habituation in Bwindi Impenetrable national park
After having breakfast early at your lodge, you will be driven to the park headquarters for briefing about the gorilla habituation experience in Bwindi national park. This activity is done in the Rushaga sector and with your packed lunches you will proceed into the Bwindi forest in groups of 4.
You will enjoy spending time with the gorillas and enjoy watching them and observing their behavior as you record videos and take photos. After the gorilla habituation experience, you will return to the park headquarters and your guide will drive you to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Rushaga gorilla haven lodge.
Day 7; transfer to Mgahinga national park and golden monkey habituation experience
Your breakfast will be served at your lodge ahead of your drive to Mgahinga national park. You will be driven to the park headquarters for briefing of the golden monkey trekking activity before proceeding into the forest to search for golden monkeys. You will spend time with the golden monkeys and enjoy taking photos. After the golden monkey habituation experience, you will return to the park headquarters.
You will also enjoy a cultural tour with the Batwa community and get to know more about their way of life and culture and later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Lake Mulehe gorilla lodge.
Day 8; drive to Kampala
After having breakfast at your lodge, you will start your journey to Kampala. You will have a stop for lunch and your guide will drive you to your hotel in Entebbe for dinner and overnight stay at Forest cottages.
Day 9; drive to Jinja and source of the Nile boat
On the 9th day of your 18 days Uganda primates and Serengeti safari, you will have breakfast at your hotel in Kampala; you will be driven to Jinja where you will check in at your lodge. You will also visit the source of the Nile for a boat ride along River Nile. You will also visit the Mahatma Gandhi memorial as well as see different arts and craft work at the source of the Nile before returning to your lodge for your dinner and overnight at 2 friends’ hotel.
Day 10; white water rafting and drive to Kampala
Breakfast will be served at your hotel as you prepare for your white water rafting activity along the Nile. You will be driven to the briefing point along the shores of the Nile where you will start your rafting experience with a briefing and then you will be given the necessary safety equipment and then you will proceed to your rafts.
After you rafting experience, you will be driven to Kampala where you will check in at your hotel for dinner and overnight at Forest cottages.
Day 11; drive to Entebbe and flight to Tanzania
Your guide will drive you to Entebbe airport after breakfast at your hotel in Kampala. You will continue to Entebbe international airport for your flight to Kilimanjaro international airport. On arrival at the airport in Tanzania, your guide will welcome you and drive you to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Tulia boutique hotel and spa.
Day 12: Transfer to Serengeti national park
Your guide will drive you from Arusha and after a short briefing; you will start your drive from Arusha to Serengeti national park which is a destination known for the big five and for amazing wildlife viewing.
You will be driven you to your lodge in Serengeti national park where you will check in for your dinner and to spend the night in the comfort of your lodge at Osinon camps and lodges.
Day 13, 14 and 15: Full day in Serengeti national park
You will start your wildlife viewing experience in Serengeti national park with breakfast at your lodge and then your guide will drive you around the national park as you enjoy searching for different wildlife species as they roam around the savannah plains such as wildebeest, antelopes, zebras, giraffes, cheetahs, leopards, lions, hyenas, warthogs, hippos, elephants and many others.
You will have lunch and later engage in another game drive in Serengeti national park and later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Osinon camps and lodges.
Day 16: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
On the 16th day of your 18 days Uganda primates and Serengeti safari, you will have breakfast at your lodge ahead of your drive to Ngorongoro conservation area. You will enjoy a safari in Ngorongoro where you will visit the world’s largest in active caldera called the Ngorongoro crater which is also home to numerous wildlife species such as wildebeests, zebras, hippos, cheetahs, antelopes, elands, impalas, gazelles, waterbucks, hartebeests among others.
You will descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro crater where you will also see attractions like Lake Magadi where you will see flamingos along the shores of the lake as well as hippos. You will have dinner and spend the night at Karatu tented lodge.
Day 17; drive to Tarangire national park
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be driven to Tarangire national park which is known for its large herds of elephants. You will look out for wildlife species such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, hartebeest, wildebeest, elands, impalas and many bird species. You will also enjoy beautiful views of the baobab and acacia trees where the wildlife species take shelter. You will proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Baobab tented lodge.
Day 18: Drive to Arusha
After having breakfast on the last day of your safari, you will be driven to Arusha and your guide will drop you off at the airport or your hotel in Arusha which will bring the safari to an end.
