9 days hiking and Tanzania wildlife safari is a tour which will start in Nairobi Kenya where you will visit Mount Kenya and take part in a hiking adventure for a period of 4 days before visiting the famous Masai Mara reserve of Kenya and Serengeti national park in Tanzania for a wildlife safari experience.
The safari will end with drop off in Arusha.
Day 1; pick up and drive to Nanyuki and hike to Old Moses camp (3300 m)
Hiking time; 3 to 4 hours
Your guide will welcome you from Nairobi and drive you to Nanyuki. You will meet the porters and proceed to Sirimon gate. From Sirimon gate you will hike to Old Moses camp where you will spend the night.
Day 2; Old Moses camp (3300 m) to Shipton camp (4200 m)
Hiking time; 6 to 7 hours
After having breakfast, you will hike through moorland from Old Moses camp to Shipton camp. You will also have your lunch on the way and you will spend the night at Shipton camp which is just below the Batian peak, Nelion and Lenana peak.
Day 3; Shipton camp to Lenana peak and back to Old Moses camp
On this day you will start your summit attempt after waking up for an early breakfast. You will climb to Lenana peak which will take about 2 to 3 hours. You will trek through steep scree to Simba cole and the rocky terrain on your way to Lenana peak where you will enjoy taking photos toMintos hut. You will have a stop for lunch and continue to the ridge overlooking the gorge valley and Lake Michaelson. You will return to Old Moses camp where you will spend the night.
Day 4; descent and drive to Nairobi
Hiking time; 2 hours
You will have breakfast at your lodge ahead of your descent from Old Moses to the Mount Kenya bandas. This hike takes about 2 hours and wildlife species can also be encountered along the way. From the Bandas, you will be met by your guide and proceed to Nairobi where your guide will drop you off at the hotel for check in and dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: pick up in Nairobi and drive to Masai Mara
On the 5th day of your 9 days hiking and Tanzania wildlife safari , After having breakfast at the hotel in Nairobi, your guide will pick you up and you will proceed to Masai Mara national Reserve with a stop in Narok town.
You will proceed to Masai Mara national reserve and then check in at your lodge. You will also have and evening game drive where you will search for the various wildlife species such as a large concentration of predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, impalas among others. After the game drive, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Miti mingi eco camp.
Day 6: Full Day Masai Mara
You will have an early breakfast at your lodge ahead of a full day of wildlife viewing. After breakfast, you will drive around the Masai Mara national reserve where you will search for various wildlife species such as wildebeests, zebras, antelopes, impalas, gazelles, giraffes, waterbucks, hippos among others.
After lunch, you will engage in another game drive in Masai Mara national reserve as you search for the different wildlife species and later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Miti mingi eco camp.
Day 7; Transfer to Serengeti national park
On the 7th day of your 9 days hiking and Tanzania wildlife safari You will have an early breakfast at your lodge and check out. After checking out of the lodge, you will have an enroute game drive as you continue to the Isebania border to cross to Tanzania. On arrival in Serengeti national park, you will meet your guide in Tanzania and then proceed to your lodge in Serengeti national park where you will have dinner and spend the night at Osinon camps.
Day 8; Full day Serengeti
You will start your full day experience of game viewing around the central plains of Serengeti national park. You will have an early breakfast at your lodge ahead of your morning game drive in Serengeti national park. You will have a lunch break after your morning game drive.
After lunch you will explore more of the endless plains of Serengeti national park in search of wildlife species such as wildebeests, zebras, antelopes, hippos, kudu, giraffes, kudu, waterbucks, lions, elephants, buffalos, cheetahs, hyenas among others. Your guide will drive you back to your lodge after the game drive for dinner and overnight at Osinon camps
Day 9; Serengeti to Arusha
On the last day of your safari, you will be driven to Arusha where your guide will drop you off at your hotel in Arusha which will mark the end of your safari to Tanzania.
