7 days Nyungwe and Akagera tour is a tour which will begin with pick up at Cyanika border or Kigali. You will visit Nyungwe national park and Akagera national park during this tour during which you will take part in chimpanzee trekking, canopy walks, city tour around Kigali and also experience a boat cruise on lake Ihema.
The safari will end with drop off in Kigali.
Day 1; drive from Cyanika border to Kigali
You will start your tour with pick up from Cyanika border and you will be driven to your hotel in Kigali. Depending on your time of arrival in Kigali, you will engage in a tour around Kigali city and visit the Kigali memorial site.

Day 2; drive to Nyungwe park and canopy walk
At 7 a.m. the tour driver will pick you up from your Kigali hotel and take you to Nyungwe Forest National Park in Rwanda’s southwest. The drive will take about 5 – 6 hours, including a lunch break enroute to the park. Arrive at the Uwinka visitor’s center in Nyungwe at 3 p.m. and go for the canopy walk tour.
The canopy walk provides amazing views of the beautiful forest. The canopy walkway also provides access to species that lives in the forest’s canopies, such as monkeys and uncommon birds. Later drive back to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3; chimpanzee trekking and gisakura tea estate
You will have an early breakfast at the lodge and then report to the Nyungwe park office in Gisakura at 5 a.m. to meet the park guides for a briefing before driving to the beginning location of your chimp trekking trip in Nyungwe Forest National Park. After the chimpanzee trekking experience, you’ll relax.
Visit Gisakura Tea Estate: Later in the evening, you can head to Gisakura Tea estate. Here, you will be taken through the process of tea growing, harvesting, processing and packaging. You will even get to taste the delicious taste of the final product. Later return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 4; drive to Kigali and city tour
Your breakfast will be served at the lodge and your guide will drive you to Kigali where you will check in at the hotel. You will also visit the Kigali museum on this day and spend the day relaxing.

Day 5; drive to Akagera national park for game drives
On the 5th day of your 7 days Nyungwe and Akagera tour, After having breakfast at the lodge, you will be driven to Akagera national park. You will engage in game drives around the park and search for different wildlife species such as giraffes, buffalo, elephants, impala and so many more. You will later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6; game drive and boat cruise
After having breakfast at the lodge, you will prepare for your drive to Akagera national park for a morning game drive around the savannah plains. You will also take part in a boat cruise on Lake Ihema. Drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7; drive to Kigali
Your breakfast will be served at the lodge and after checking out your guide will drive you to Kigali where you will be dropped off at the hotel which will bring the tour to an end.
