Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest – Canopy walk
we start our Gorilla trekking in Rwanda safari,depending on your location in Kigali, our company representative/ driver guide will pick you up set off to Nyungwe forest located in the south western part of Rwanda, estimated distance is 5 hours drive. The park is best known for its habitant of primates species like the chimpanzees and plus owl-faced and colobus monkeys and for the canopy walkway.
Arrive Nyungwe forest at good time for lunch and later connect for a canopy walk. The walkway is the first of its kind in East Africa and third on the continent after South Africa and Ghana. It allows visitors to see the forest from above the trees and be at eye level with birds and monkeys that inhabit the upper storey of the forest. Proceed to your guest house/ lodge arriving for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking
Take an early morning breakfast then drive to the park for the starting point for one of the great activities included in Gorilla trekking in Rwanda safari that is chimpanzee trek with your packed lunch and bottled water since the search for the creatures may take longer. After your briefing you will enter the rainforest, expect to encounter other primates like the Colobus monkeys, golden monkeys, Baboons, L’Hoest’s monkeys Red tailed monkeys among others and also different bird species. Nyungwe is quite challenging and should be mentioned that it is not guaranteed to see the chimps as they are unpredictable and can move long distances in one day but your guide will find them for you. Return to your lodge after finding the wanted primates.

Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes national park
After your morning breakfast, depart Nyungwe and drive to Volcanoes national park-home the some of the remaining mountain gorillas. Estimated distance 6-7 hours drive with en route lunch in Gisenyi town, and then proceed to Musanze town where you will connect to your reserved accommodation for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking and any optional activity
After early morning breakfast, your driver will drive you to kinigi for Gorilla trekking in Rwanda which starts with briefing about the endangered mountain gorillas from the park warden. Along with your trekking gear, drinking water and packed lunch. This activity may take between 1-8 hours searching for the gorillas depending on their movement. Meeting the gorillas is so rewarding and you will spend maximally 1 hour with them as you take time studying them and taking pictures and videos. After spending your time with the fascinating mountain gorillas, return to the base and meet your driver to return to your lodge for lunch and refresh. If you still feel strong to do another activity, you can do an optional tour like the community tour. Dinner and over night as above
Day 5: Return to Kigali
After breakfast you will depart for Kigali. Estimated time is 2-3 hrs drive via the rolling hills of Rwanda. Upon arrival in Kigali city, proceed to Kigali genocide memorial and other city attractions in Kigali as you will be advised by your driver guide, lunch will be provided and be dropped off at either to a hotel or to the airport for your onward flight.
