3 Days Rwanda Chimpanzee Trekking is done in the far border of Rwanda and Congo at Nyungwe Forest National park. The remote forest inhabits more primates like chimpanzees, black faced Monkey and others with more birds. Other activities are Rwanda Chimpanzee Trekking, Canopy walk, water falls visit, birding and others.
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest—Canopy walk
Depending on your location in Kigali, our company representative/ driver guide will pick you up brief you on our 3 Days Rwanda Chimpanzee Trekking safari and set off to Nyungwe forest located in the south western part of Rwanda. The park is best known for its habitat of primates species like the chimpanzees and plus owl-faced and colobus monkeys and for the canopy walkway. Estimated distance is 6-7 hours drive.
Arrive Nyungwe forest at good time for lunch and later connect for a canopy walk. The walkway is the first of its kind in East Africa and third on the continent after South Africa and Ghana. It allows visitors to see the forest from above the trees and be at eye level with birds and monkeys that inhabit the upper storey of the forest. Proceed to your guest house/ lodge arriving for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking
3 Days Rwanda Chimpanzee Trekking is our long a waited day comes today. Take an early morning breakfast then drive to the park for the starting point of your chimpanzee trek with your packed lunch and bottled water since the search for the creatures may take longer. After your briefing you will enter the rainforest, expect to encounter other primates like the Colobus monkeys, golden monkeys, Baboons, L’Hoest’s monkeys Red tailed monkeys among others and also different bird species. Nyungwe is quite challenging and should be mentioned that it is not guaranteed to see the chimps as they are unpredictable and can move long distances in one day but your guide will find them for you.
Return to your lodge. Accommodation & Meals at either of the lodges as above
Day 3: Return to Kigali
our last day of 3 Days Rwanda Chimpanzee Trekking starts with breakfast you will depart for Kigali which takes about 6 ½ hrs drive via Butare regarded as the intellectual city of Rwanda for lunch and also visit Murambi Memorial – A School where 27,000 people were killed, visit the King’s palace then proceed to Kigali arriving for dinner and overnight at your hotel or proceed to the airport for your ongoing flight.
