1 day Akagera national park safari is a tour which is filled with amazing wildlife viewing in the famous safari park in Rwanda which is also a good destination to enjoy relaxing boat rides during a Rwanda tour.
During the 1 day Akagera safari, you will start in Kigali and be driven to the park for a game drive and boat trip before ending the safari in Kigali.
Day 1; Pick up Kigali and transfer to Akagera national park
Your safari will start with pick up from Kigali by your guide who will meet you and welcome you for the safari. You will start the journey early as 5 am and embark on your journey to Akagera national park. The park is located in the North East of Rwanda and the only savannah park in Rwanda with several mammal and bird species. Akagera national park has the big five game including the buffaloes, Elephants, Leopards, lions and Rhinos. Other animals to expect include giraffes, hippos, Kobs, Zebras, Bushbucks, and waterbucks. Bird species can be spotted in places including the woodland, swamps, lakes and Savannah. You will get to the park early, enter and register at the entry where you will also get a ranger guide. Connect for a morning game drive in the park; this will take about 2-4 hours depending on your interest and animal sights.
After lunch, you will engage in a boat trip on Lake Ihema. The boat trip on Lake Ihema is scheduled, so doing the boat will depend on the time. Thereafter, drive out of the park to return to Kigali and be dropped at a location you will advise. End of tour.
