Experience Congos nyiragongo in a 3 days mount Nyiragongo hike, get to see of few worlds active volcano (mount nyiragongo)
Day 1: Pick-up & Transfer to Goma
You will be picked up from either the airport or hotel in Kigali and transferred to Goma via Gisenyi town bordering Congo. Estimated distance is 5-6 hours drive crossing and connect to your reserved hotel to rest and prepare for the next day activity.
Accommodation & Meals: Mikeno lodge / Lac Kivu lodge / Bukima lodge on full board.
Day 2: Mount Nyiragongo full day hike
Wake up to an early breakfast and be transferred to Kibati patrol post to begin your Nyiragongo hike. You will first have a briefing before you start your trek from the park rangers. Along with your service rangers, porters and food providers will start your hike. The lava is best viewed in the night, so you will spend an overnight at the summit with rewarding views of the lava lake. Shelter, meals and driving water will be provided.
Day 3: Return to Kigali
Descend Nyiragongo and meet up with your driver / guide at the base by around 11:00 am and cross back to Rwanda side in Gisenyi where you will have your lunch before you connect back to Kigali. Either be dropped at your hotel or airport for your onward flight.
