Day 1. Arrival & Transfer you to the Hotel
You will be welcomed by our company representative and your driver / guide upon arrival at the airport and transfer to your hotel in Nairobi. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2. Nairobi – Lake Nakuru
On this day drive to Lake Nakuru national park which is famous for the presence of up to two million Flamingos, seasonally feeding on the abundant algae. Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approx 400 other species of birds visiting the lake. In addition, many species of game can be found in the Park including the introduced Rothschild’s Giraffe, black and White Rhino, Waterbuck, Reedbuck, Lion, Buffalo, Leopard, Baboon and many species of plains game. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3. Lake Nakuru-Masai Mara
Depart after breakfast in the morning and drive further to Masai Mara Game Reserve, arriving at the Lodge in time for lunch. In late afternoon go for a game drive to search for its density of animals including the Big Five and 453 species of birds, it is one of the most visited reserves in Africa. During this time the great migration is fully observed since it’s on its high gear. The dramatic river crossings are a gruesome spectacle of survival of the fittest. Dinner and overnight
Day 4. Masai Mara
After morning cup of tea / coffee go for a game drive in the park as its popular game sanctuary where you will have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant). Morning and afternoon game drives with an optional visit to a local Masai village. Dinner and overnight.
Day 5. Masai Mara – Nairobi – Arusha
Depart Masai Mara in the morning and drive back to Nairobi arriving approximately 1300 hrs. Lunch then transferred to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight. On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, meet & greet with our other representative before being transferred to your hotel for overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 6. Arusha – Lake Manyara
Pick up from Arusha and transfer to Lake Manyara National Park. We arrive in time for lunch at the lodge and after lunch we head into the Lake Manyara National Park for an afternoon game drive. This national park is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park), located at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. The park’s varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, Lake Manyara’s unique tree-climbing lions (rare), as well as large flocks of flamingos attracted by the algae in the lake. Dinner and overnight.
Day 7. Lake Manyara National Park – Serengeti Plains
After breakfast we head towards the Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. We arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park. Dinner and overnight.
Day 8. Serengeti Plains
Be one of only a few fortunate people to glide in a Hot Air Balloon over the Serengeti Plains (available at supplementary cost by pre-arrangement). Floating silently above the awakening bush, while spotting wildlife and enjoying the amazing scenery of Africa, across rivers and over numerous small villages.
We do an after breakfast full day game drive with lunch at the lodge. We will follow the Kopjes Circuit, which goes anti-clockwise around the Maasai Kopjes, which usually attract a number of lion and some formidably large cobras. Kopjes are weathered granite outcrops, scattered around the plains, most of which are miniature ecosystems, providing shade and drinking water in pools left in the rock after the rains. This makes the kopjes particularly good for spotting wildlife in the dry seasons – including lions, which like to lie in wait for animals coming to drink. Dinner and overnight.
Day 9. Serengeti Plains – Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast at the lodge do we depart to Ngorongoro Conservation area. We will stopover at Olduvai Gorge, boasting with a history dating back to the dawn of time. It was here, that the anthropologists Drs. Lois and Mary Leakey discovered the skulls of the’Nutcracker Man’ and ‘Handy Man’, both very significant links in the chain of human evolution. We arrive in time for lunch at the lodge and spend the afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight.
Day 10 – Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast we descend 600m into this magnificent crater for a full-day game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely crowded African wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhino. Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro National Park supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its huge population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard. We will enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor. Dinner and overnight.
Day 11. Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha to Entebbe
After breakfast we drive to Arusha to catch up with our flight to Uganda. You will be met by our driver guide in Entebbe and be transferred to your hotel in Kampala
Day 12. Jinja
After morning breakfast, drive to Itada Falls enjoy the breeze of the falls and cultural walk, drive back to the source of the Nile have boat ride and relaxing in the water. Evening city tour around Jinja. Diner and overnight.
Day 13. Jinja to Kampala
After morning cup of tea, drive back to Kampala reaching in mid-morning check in your hotel and go for city tour around Kampala. Diner and overnight at Serena Hotel.
Day 14. Transfer Kibale forest national park
Your guide will pick you up from Entebbe airport and transfer to Kibale forest national park with a stopover in Fort portal town for lunch and a visit to the crater lakes in Fort portal and Amabereganyinamwiru (a unique stalagmites site with amazing caves and a waterfall). Proceed to Kibale forest arriving late afternoon. Diner and overnight.
Day 15. Chimpanzee tracking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Spend the morning tracking the exuberant chimp families in the Kibale forest. Tracking chimpanzees in their natural habitat, as they swing from the branches in the canopy high above the forest floor, is a thrilling experience. Though they can be difficult to spot, you will be in no doubt of their presence as the forest is alive with their noisy calls.
Return to the lodge for lunch and embark on your journey to Queen Elizabeth national park arriving late afternoon. Dinner and overnight.
Day 16. Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
You will be picked up from your hotel in Kampala and transferred to Queen Elizabeth National park in western Uganda. On your way you will make a stopover at the equator for the equator experience and photography if you please. Proceed to Mbarara town for lunch and continue your journey to Queen Elizabeth national park arriving in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge.
Day 17. Full Day in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Go for an early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth national park where you will spot a lot of wildlife including African elephants, buffalos, antelopes, impala, among others and a lot of birds. Return to the lodge for breakfast, relax a bit and enjoy your lunch. In the afternoon, go for a launch cruise along the Kazinga channel inside Queen Elizabeth Park where you will come up close with hippos, crocodiles among other aquatic life and an array of birds on the bay! Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 18. Transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha
Enjoy your breakfast and head southwest of Queen Elizabeth national park in search of tree climbing lions in the Ishasha sector where on a lucky day, you will be able to spot many of them lounging on trees and enjoying the sun! Continue and proceed to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park arriving in the evening. Check in to your hotel, unwind, and enjoy dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma lodge.
Day 19. Gorilla Trekking – Bwindi
Have an early morning breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing by the ranger guides before embarking on your gorilla trek. Head into the forest and trek until you find the gorillas.
Gorilla trekking can take 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. After finding the gorillas in Bwindi, you will be allowed only 1 hour and then return. Your driver / guide will drive you back to your hotel to relax and spend another night at Buhoma lodge.
Day 20. Transfer to Kampala
Enjoy an early morning breakfast and transfer back to Kampala with a stopover in Mbarara for lunch, arriving in Kampala in the evening. Drop off to your hotel in Kampala or the Airport for your onward flight.
