14 days Rwanda and Uganda trekking and hiking tour is a trip that will start in Kigali before visiting different parks in the country including Volcanoes national park for hiking Bisoke, a golden monkey trek experience and also a tour to Nyungwe national park for chimpanzee trekking and canopy walks and also a tour around Uganda.
In Uganda you will visit Bwindi national park, Mgahinga national park, Sipi falls and also visit the source of the Nile in Jinja. The tour will end with drop off in Kampala or Entebbe.
Day 1: Arrive in Kigali and drive to Volcanoes park
Depending on your time of arrival in Rwanda, you will be welcomed by our company representative/ guide. You will then set off for Kigali where you will check in at your hotel. You will also take part in a of Kigali city tour and after the tour you will proceed to Volcanoes national park.

Day 2: Bisoke Hike – Volcanoes National Park
You will enjoy breakfast and set out for Mt. Bisoke hike which is part of volcanoes national park; home to Rwanda gorillas. On reaching the summit, you will discover a beautiful crater lake and the whole experience is overwhelming! Along the trail, you will discover a lot of birdlife and captivating scenery – the reason Rwanda is referred to as the “land of a thousand hills”.
Meet your driver / guide and transfer back to the lodge for lunch. If you feel strong, you may opt for a village walk. Dinner and overnight stay at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge as above
Day 3: Golden monkey trek & Transfer to Nyungwe national park.
On the 3rd day of your 14 days Rwanda and Uganda trekking and hiking Tour, Breakfast will be served early and you will go for Golden monkey trekking, then enjoy Ibyi’wachu cultural tour and transfer to Nyungwe forest national park with lunch en-route. Dinner and overnight stay at Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel
Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and Canopy Walk
Enjoy breakfast and go for briefing before entering the forest, searching for the active and playful fellows in Nyungwe forest. The Chimpanzees are the easy to spot, as they jump from one tree to another, chattering and laughing. Chimp tracking usually takes about 3 hours. You will then return to your accommodation for lunch. After lunch, you will go on a walking trail that will take you to the Canopy Walk, a swing bridge 50 meters in length that is suspended from large trees. You will be able to see the amazing rainforest with a bird’s eye view, spotting wildlife moving about below you. Before night fall, you will return to the hotel for dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Top Hill View Hotel as above.
Day 5; hiking Rukuzi trail
You will have breakfast at your lodge in the morning and after breakfast you will embark on a guided hike along the Rukuzi trail. This trail takes about 5 hours to complete the full circuit and is one of the best hiking trails of Nyungwe national park.
You may encounter chimpanzees during the hike along the Rukuzi trail and also enjoy views of Lake Kivu. After your hike you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6; drive to Gatuna border and transfer to Bwindi
After having breakfast at the lodge, your guide will drive you to Gatuna border where you will cross to Uganda. You will proceed to your lodge in Bwindi national park where you will check in at the lodge.

Day 7; gorilla trekking
On the 7th day of your 14 days Rwanda and Uganda trekking and hiking Tour, After an early breakfast, you will carry packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. After the briefing you will be allocated a gorilla family to trek and a park guide who is knowledgeable about the mountain gorillas and also conversant with different gorilla trekking trails. Trekking of mountain gorillas in Bwindi impenetrable national park takes about 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on where the gorillas are located because they like to move from one place to another in search of food. During trekking you will be able to view other primate species, different bird species, plants among others and once the mountain gorillas are found, you will be able to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to observe their behaviors, watch them carry out their daily activities like feeding, playing, breastfeeding, grooming young ones, take photos and record videos. After the one hour encounter with the gentle giants, you will drive back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight as above.

Day 8; nature walk
You will have breakfast at the lodge and later take part in a nature walk around Bwindi national park. You will get closer to the nature in the park during this activity and also encounter different primate species in the forest.

Day 9; transfer to Mgahinga national park and Batwa trail experience
After breakfast at the lodge, your guide will take you to Mgahinga national park in Kisoro district. You will also take part in a Batwa trail experience on this day and interact with the locals and get to know more about their culture.

Day 10; hiking Mount Gahinga
After breakfast early at the lodge, you will take part in hiking Mount Gahinga which starts at 7:00am with briefing at the park headquarters with one of the park Rangers. The Rangers share information about the mountain including its history and position among the Virunga volcanoes. Hikers will be informed about the nature of the hike and how to prepare in the best possible way. There are stops at various points of the mountain to allow hikers rest, eat, take photos and enjoy the beautiful scenery. After the briefing, everyone is given a free hiking stick and those who wish to use porters can hire them.

Day 11; drive to Kampala
On the 11th day of your 14 days Rwanda and Uganda trekking and hiking Tour, You will have breakfast served at the lodge ahead of your journey back to Kampala. Lunch will be had enroute and you will proceed to the hotel in Kampala for check in.

Day 12; transfer to Sipi falls and waterfalls hike
After breakfast at your hotel, you will start your drive to Sipi falls for a hiking experience. You will explore all the 3 falls at Sipi. You will have your lunch before beginning your hike and enjoy views of the Mount Elgon slopes and also enjoy taking photos. You will have dinner and spend the night at the hotel.

Day 13; drive to Jinja and visit source of the Nile
Your breakfast will be served at the lodge ahead of your drive from Sipi to Jinja town. You wil also engage in a boat ride on the source of the Nile on this day and enjoy beautiful views around and also see many local arts and crafts.

Day 14; transfer to Entebbe and departure
You will have breakfast at your hotel, you will check out of the hotel and start your drive back to Kampala which will bring the tour to an end.
