Bwindi impenetrable forest in Uganda is about 500 kilometers from Entebbe international airport and Volcanoes national park in Rwanda is 116 kilometers from Kigali international airport. You will need almost a full day to get to Bwindi and then do gorilla trekking the next day while you can get to volcanoes easily and do the gorilla trekking that very day and get back home. The number of days you spend in the park will also increase your costs.
Congo’s Virunga national park can be reached within half a day from Kigali though you might delay clearing at the boarder and getting a Congo tourists Visa.
Travelling during the low season is cheaper but you can easily chance rain during your gorilla trekking moment. Four wheel drive vehicles are recommended to get to the park as some roads leading to the park will be in bad condition. Alternatively, tourists can fly into Kigali International Airport in Rwanda and then move to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park or Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The distance from Kigali to these parks is much closer than from Kampala or Entebbe International Airport.
