Putting Ngorongoro conservation area into words, you will be discoursing one among the world’s pre-eminent heritage site established in 1959 with an ID No. 39. This world’s largest caldera and indeed the most visited one is located 180 km west of Arusha in the Crater Highlands of Tanzania. Having about 500 species of birds, a variety of animals from huge elephants to the most endangered species of Black Rhino, Wild Hunting dog and the Golden Cat; all these makes Ngorongoro be on the top list of the most visited conservation areas in the world. Ngorongoro crater is also highly favored with the exploration of Olduvai Gorge, where Louis and Mary Leakey discovered the hominin fossils which is said to be there for over the millennia. This goes hand in hand with exploring how livestock of the semi-nomadic Maasai tribe manage to graze juxtaposed to the wild animals without being affected. What makes it much more beautiful is its stunning landscape that attracts visitors to view the species of flora and fauna residing it. However, giraffes and impala are absent in this scene, while cheetahs, East African wild dogs and the African leopard are rarely seen. To observe these species, you will have to go to Serengeti National Park.

Serengeti National Park is also a World Heritage Site established by UNESCO in 1981. It is famous for the never-ending cycle of the Great Migration and of course the Annual Migration of animals such as the wild beasts. To cut the long story short, the cycle starts from the south, west, North and back to the South of the park. About two million wildebeest starts their migration where about half a million calves are born during the journey. In the journey, the number of wildebeest is reduced by numerous predators such as lions, hyenas and hungry crocodiles. Under ceteris Paribas conditions, the migration cycle begins in May and ends in December.

Apart from being home to Great Migration, Serengeti is also home to the Big Five impressive animals; lion, rhino, leopard, elephant and Cape buffalo. You will see the King of the African savannah, the lion and the world’s largest land animal, the African elephant. The other wildlife apart from the big five include the long-necked giraffes, ungulates such as eland, zebra, impala, kongoni and Grant’s gazelles. Cheetahs, leopards and hyenas are also available in Serengeti as it was in Ngorongoro Conservation area.

Tanzania tourism doesn’t just end on National Parks of the conservation areas; it rather extends to the colorful Cultural Diversity, which is being polished by multiculturalism. Exploring this attractive scene from the Northern Zone of Tanzania you will cross paths with the Olpopongi, a Maasai Cultural Village. This has been built intentionally in order to preserve the Maasai culture. It is built of Maasai Boma, a traditional hut made up of traditional materials with the same appearance like those of the real Maasai Villages. This village is located near the Tingatinga village in Tingatinga ward of Longido district in Arusha-Tanzania, at a distance of 74 km away from Kilimanjaro and 85 km for those coming from Arusha. Since Olpopongi’s village location is close to the Kilimanjaro International Airport, it is a good stopover point for tourist who want to visit the Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru and Arusha National Park.

Tanzania is also born under a lucky of natural resources, which offer unique features to an extent that they part of Tanzanian Tourism. These include the world’s second deepest lake, Lake Tanganyika located in Kigoma region. Alongside with that we also have the world’s largest tropical lake which is also the largest lake amongst all African Lakes; the Grate Lake Victoria located in Mwanza.

One can’t speak of unique Tanzanian lakes without mentioning Lake Manyara, despite ranking the seventh in size when speaking of lakes in Tanzania. It is situated within Lake Manyara National Park, which is located 126 kilometers from Arusha. This is a soda ash lake, uniquely distinguished for its pink appearance once looked from some distance away. This is because it hosts a large number of pink flamingos. Lake Manyara National Park is also famous for hosting tree-climbing lions, one of the largest elephants, many giraffes, wildebeests, buffaloes, impalas as well as the largest concentration of baboons in the world.
