HOW TO GET TO TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK?
If you’re planning a trip to Tsavo West National Park, there are two main ways to get there: by road and by air.
By Road: If you decide to drive, the journey from Nairobi to Tsavo West will take you around 5 to 6 hours. You’ll cover a distance of about 259 kilometers. Start on the A109 highway, which leads you towards Mombasa. Along the way, you’ll pass through towns like Voi and Mtito Andei, both of which serve as gateways to the park. Depending on where you begin your trip, you can enter the park through the Mtito Andei gate or the Chyulu gate. If you want to enjoy the park at your own pace, consider using a private vehicle or joining a guided tour from Nairobi.
By Air: For those looking to shorten their travel time, flying is a great option. You can catch a flight from Wilson Airport in Nairobi to several airstrips close to the park, including Kilaguni and Kamboyo. The flight takes about an hour, making it a very convenient choice. Airlines such as Kenya Airways and Precision Air operate these flights, but keep in mind that flight schedules can change, especially with the seasons.
