The airport is located about 45 kilometres from Arusha and 35 kilometres from Moshi town and is operated by Kilimanjaro airports Development Company. Kilimanjaro international airport (JRO) covers about 110 square kilometres.

The airport was built in 1956 by Colonel Grey and after 1961 Arusha airport was handed over to the government.

Julius Nyerere international airport (JNIA) is an airport in Tanzania which is found in Dar es Salaam which is the largest city of Tanzania.

The airport is also operated and maintained by Tanzania Airports Authority and is located about 12 kilometres south west of Dar es Salaam. Julius Nyerere international airport is the hub for Air Tanzania, Precision Air and Coastal Aviation among others.

  1. Abeid Amani Karume international airport

Abeid Amani Karume international airport is the main airport of Zanzibar and it is located on about 5 kilometres from Stone town and is found on Unguja island.

This airport is operated by Zanzibar Airports Authority and Abeid Amani Karume international airport has 2 terminals. The first terminal operates domestic flights and the second terminal is used for international flights.

Formerly known as Zanzibar international airport, Abeid Amani Karume international airport connects Zanzibar to the rest of Tanzania and the world.

  1. Mwanza international airport

Mwanza international airport is another international airport in Tanzania and it is operated by Tanzania Airports Authority.

It is the 3rd busiest airport in Tanzania and Mwanza airport is located near the shores of Lake Victoria. Mwanza airport serves Mwanza and also the northern part of Tanzania.

The airport is located 10 kilometres from the city of Mwanza. Mwanza airport was established in the 1940 before the independence of Tanganyika which is currently Tanzania.
