Ougoue Lekiti National Park is located in the Democratic Republic of Congo, covering an area of 6,000 square kilometers in the western part of the country; it is the only park that once had a lion population in Congo, but this population became extinct due to heavy poaching. The park is covered in a panoramic landscape.
Ougoue Lekiti National Park’s northern sector contains an ancient sand dunes system with vast savanna woodlands patched with dense rainforests, river valleys, and small lakes. The park was established on the 18th of September, 2006.

Game viewing
Ougoue Lekiti National Park is home to a variety of wildlife; among the animals you can see on a game drive are Grimm’s duiker, side-striped jackal, chimpanzees, forest elephants, forest buffalos, gorillas, leopards, bush pigs, and several species of monkeys.
Birdwatching
Ougoue Lekiti National Park has various species of birds; some are migratory, while others are residential, including hornbills, herons, vultures, and many more.
Gorilla trekking
Tourists can go on gorilla trekking safaris; the maximum age for gorilla trekking is 15 years of age and any persons with infections such as a cold won’t be allowed to do this activity.
