Kenya’s Revered Opposition Leader Raila Odinga Laid To Rest
Raila Amolo Odinga was a Kenyan politician who served as the prime minister from 2008 to 2013. He was also the member of parliament for Langata Constituency from 1992-2013. Raila Amolo Odinga was born on 7th January 1945 and died on 15th October 2025.
Raila was not just a Kenyan politician but he was also a very respected person across the continent and even beyond. Odinga died from a suspected heart attack at a health clinic in southern India on Wednesday. His body was received in Nairobi on Thursday.
Odinga, a pro-democracy champion, was buried on Sunday at his Family’s homestead in Western Kenya’s Bondo. Kenyans have bid a final farewell to Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga, days after several people were killed as mourners paid their respects in the capital, Nairobi.
Thousands of Kenyan and other distinguished guests from across Africa attended the final day of the man described as a selfless Pan-Africanist.
