Uganda Gorilla Permit Price Increase 2024 : As per communication by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), there has been an increase in the Uganda gorilla permit. The Uganda gorilla permit which was at 700$ per foreign non-resident is now at 800$ per person per trek.
Gorillas are an endangered species that can only be found in Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo which have dense rainforests with high altitude ranges. In Uganda, gorillas are found in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which have a number of habituated gorilla families that travelers can see while on a gorilla trekking safari in Uganda.
Gorilla trekking is an activity that involves trekking up the rainforests in search of the habituated gorilla group you are allocated to. Once you find the gorilla family, you are allowed up to 1 hour with them.

Despite the updated Uganda gorilla permit price, gorilla trekking in Uganda is still by far more affordable compared to gorilla trekking in Rwanda, where a Rwanda gorilla permit price is at 1,500USD per person.
