9 days Tarangire and Zanzibar safari is a safari experience across different destinations in Tanzania and it will start with a wildlife viewing experience in Ngorongoro crater and you will also visit Tarangire national park.
During your 9 days Tanzania safari, you will also visit Zanzibar island and enjoy a stone town and also enjoy a boat ride on the Indian ocean. You will also visit Nungwi beach on the north western coast of Zanzibar where you will enjoy snorkeling, swimming, diving and sunbathing as well as scenic views around.
The 9 days Tarangire and Zanzibar safari will end with drop off at the airport in Zanzibar.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1; pick up in Arusha
Your guide will pick you up from the airport in Arusha and welcome you for your safari. You will be driven to your hotel where you will check in. Dinner and overnight will be at Tulia boutique hotel and spa (midrange), Arusha coffee lodge (luxury).
Day 2; pick up and drive to Ngorongoro crater
After having breakfast at your hotel in Arusha, your guide will drive you to Ngorongoro conservation area. You will visit the Ngorongoro crater where you will engage in a game drive after descending about 600 meters into the crater. During the game drive, you will look out for various wildlife species such as elephants, lions, buffalos, leopards, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, cheetahs, antelopes, elands, impalas, gazelles, waterbucks, hartebeests, hyenas, warthogs and many others.
You will also visit Lake Magadi where you will see flamingos along the shores of the lake as well as hippos. After the game drive, you will return to your lodge for dinner and spend the night at Eileen’s tree inn (midrange), Karatu tented lodge (luxury).
Day 3; drive to Tarangire national park
After breakfast and checking out of the lodge, your guide will drive you Tarangire national park where you will enjoy seeing more herds of elephants as well as the baobab trees during your safari. This national park is also home to over 600 bird species and you will see various bird species during the safari.
You will also engage in a game drive around Tarangire national park during the safari in search of various wildlife species such as elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, waterbucks, antelopes, elands, impalas, giraffes among others. You will return to your lodge after the game drive for dinner and overnight stay at Tarangire Roika lodge (midrange), Kuro camp (luxury).
Day 4; full day in Tarangire national park
You will wake up for breakfast at your lodge ahead of a morning game drive in Tarangire national park as you search for various wildlife species in the savannah plains such as elephants, zebras, hartebeest, waterbucks, gazelles, oryx, cheetahs, lions and many others. You will have lunch after your morning game drive.
After lunch, you will engage in an afternoon game drive around Tarangire national park to explore the wilderness of the national park and to search for other wildlife species while enjoying the beautiful scenery. You will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Tarangire Roika lodge (midrange), Kuro camp (luxury).
Day 5; drive to Arusha and flight to Zanzibar
After having breakfast at your lodge, your guide will drive you to Arusha for your flight to Zanzibar. On arrival at the airport in Zanzibar, you will be welcomed and driven to your hotel for check in.
You will also have an optional tour around stone town for an experience of the culture and also visit different sites around Stone town. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Zanzibar palace hotel.
Day 6; boat ride and visit Menai bay
You will have breakfast at your hotel and prepare for the day’s activities such as a boat ride on a traditional dhow and during the activity you will look out for dolphins in the water.
You will also enjoy snorkeling and swimming, sunbathing on one of the islands as you enjoy seeing the coral reef and marine life. You will also have lunch and also relax and sunbathe. After this experience, you will return to your hotel for dinner and overnight at Zanzibar palace hotel.
Day 7; transfer to Nungwi beach
After breakfast at your hotel, you will transfer to Nungwi beach for a relaxing holiday experience on Nungwi beach. You will enjoy views of the Indian ocean and also visit the turtle sanctuary which is found close to the hotel. You will spend the night at Flame tree cottages.
Day 8; Nungwi experience
You will enjoy a full day of relaxing on the beach and engaging in various activities at Nungwi beach which is found on the north western coast of the island. You will also enjoy watching as the local build the boats using traditional tools.
At Nungwi beach you have a variety of activities to choose from while on safari such as swimming, snorkeling, diving. Dinner and overnight will be at Flame tree cottages.
Day 9; departure
On the last day of your trip, you will have breakfast ahead of your drive to the airport which will bring your trip to Tanzania safaris to an end.
