3 days Samburu national park safari package takes you on a visit to samburu national park which is located in the samburu community of Kenya, samburu national park is an excellent home for wildlife and a famous tourist designated famed for being a home to lioness Kamunyak which adopted Oryx calves.  Wildlife found in the park include lions, African elephants, cape buffaloes, leopards, cheetah, zebras, Masai giraffe, beisa Oryx, greater and lesser kadu, gerenuk, impala, warthogs, Grant’s gazelle, waterbuck, Kirk’s dik-dik, olive baboons and many more.

 And birds include grey headed kingfisher, sunbirds, bee-eaters, Marabou stork, tawny eagle, verreaux’s eagle, bateleur, vulturine guinea fowl, yellow necked spur fowl, lilac-breasted roller, secretary bird, superb starling, northern red-billed hornbill, yellow-billed horn bill and many more.

Detailed itinerary for the safari           

Day 1: transfer from Nairobi to samburu national park

The 1st day of the safari is for transfer from Nairobi to Samburu national park, on this day you will wake up early for morning breakfast, meet your safari drive and leave your hotel heading for samburu national park which is a drive of about 5- 6 hours. You are to arrive in the park in afternoon, have lunch and go for an afternoon game drive, on this game drive you will spot many animals such as leopards, lions, Beisa Oryx, cheetahs, giraffes, gravy’s zebra and many more. After the game drive you will drive back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: full day samburu national reserve

The 2nd day of the safari is for a full day game drive in the plains of Samburu national park, on this day you will have an early breakfast and drive to the park for a full day of game drive which gives you ample time to tour samburu national park. On your drive through the savannah grasslands you will spot many animals such as lions, African elephants, cape buffaloes, leopards, cheetah, zebras, Masai giraffe, beisa Oryx, greater and lesser kadu, gerenuk, impala, warthogs, Grant’s gazelle, waterbuck, Kirk’s dik-dik and many more. On the same experience you will also spot many birds such as grey headed kingfisher, sunbirds, bee-eaters, Marabou stork, tawny eagle, verreaux’s eagle, bateleur, vulturine guinea fowl, yellow necked spur fowl, lilac-breasted roller, secretary bird, superb starling, northern red-billed hornbill, yellow-billed horn bill and many more. You will have picnic lunch set on the banks of Owasso Nyiro River as you enjoy views of crocodiles, hippos and many other animals as they come to the river to drink water. In the afternoon you will go for another game drive visiting the parts of the park you have not visited yet, in the evening you will drive back to your lodge for dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: transfer from Samburu to Nairobi

The third day of the safari is for a visit to the samburu local community and transfer back to Nairobi for drop off and end of your safari, on this last day of the your safari you will have early morning breakfast , checkout of your lodge and drive to the Samburu community for a cultural tour. The samburu local people are pastoral tribal people living on the outskirts of the park, in this community you will spot the daily local way these people live their lives, their culture and traditions. You can also participate in cattle grazing and also be entertained by local dances and songs, after the experience you will embark on your journey back to Nairobi with a stopover for lunch. You are to arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon and you will be dropped off either at your hotel or at the airport for your departure flight back home.
